It’s a rather common thing to hear people talk about how often they change their passwords and how secure they really are. But, it seems to me that it is human tendency to assure oneself of security. As far as technology has come, it still has loopholes due to the human element which allow people to access our accounts without our will.
For example, consider the various questions that are asked for password reset. Whether it be your mother’s maiden name, your dog’s name, you’re car’s brand or your birth place… these are things easy to find and answer. Sadly, people tend to keep these answers because they are often easy to remember. I recently read this article on slashdot about this and an interesting mention was made to the fact that people’s preferences are seen to remain stable my psychologists. Well, under such circumstances then, it may just be easier to switch the questions that web-mailing sites ask you to be something that may not be as easy to access for others.
I would say that it might just be easier to not have a password reset at all than to have one that is obviously and easily searchable. Afterall, it’s harder to get a password right without any guiding question than to get the answer to a secret question that shows up on a password reset screen…

It all really depends on the website. sometimes i find them to be just a big pain in the butt. i like having the password sent to alternate email. that is if you have alot of different email accounts like me. lol
